Demolishing the wall between science and poetry

Poet and physicist Iggie McGovern has an interesting piece in The Irish Times about the differences between the two disciplines and their roles. He believes that “Poetry as an inoculation against rampant emotion is now more necessary than ever”, yet science too has its own issues with the communication of truth. McGovern quotes from poet and immunologist Miroslav Holub’s essay Poetry & Science, in which he argues that as equal partners, each is a vital defence against ignorance. Read more
